Hi, I’m Gena and GG is my nickname.

My love for jewellery started when I was a young girl. A career in ‘Design’ gave me the inspiration to accessorize. Having tiny wrists, I found it difficult to locate bracelets that fit. I began creating unique bracelets in 2003 and the story of GG’s Gems began.

I received many compliments on my bracelets and friends and colleagues would ask me to make pieces for them in my spare time. My colleagues received compliments about their bracelets as well! That’s when I began creating more of my own "original designs" so others could also enjoy them.

I was inspired and taught myself how to make necklaces and earrings as well. I began selling my jewellery in markets and on consignment in various shops. Creating is my passion and I love it!! I held an annual GG’s Gems Christmas shopping party at my home and found that my creations were a popular gift item too.

2020 was a very difficult year for so many of us. For myself, it was extremely challenging as I was required to leave behind a career I truly enjoyed. However, this provided me the opportunity to promote my Gems and have been creating and sharing my designs on social media. I have become busier than ever! In addition to my website, my creations are also now being sold in 3 Edmonton area boutiques and at a hair salon in Airdrie, Alberta. I am proud to say that GG's Gems is growing rapidly.

Because I am committed to originality I don’t mass produce. Most pieces are still "one-of-a-kind" or "three-of-a-kind" in order to maintain the uniqueness of my hand crafted jewellery.

My mission is that no woman should ever have to think twice about buying a piece of jewellery that makes her feel special so GG's Gems will ALWAYS be affordable.
